MacBook Pro 13-inch Battery Replacement Cost Pakistan
“MacBook Pro 13” covers two very different machines still common in Pakistan: the Intel Touch Bar generation (2016-2020, including the butterfly-keyboard years) and the Apple Silicon M1 (2020) and M2 (2022) models. Both eventually need a battery, but they're not the same part, and pricing differs slightly because of that. If you're not sure which you have, check Apple menu > About This Mac — it lists the chip (Intel Core i5/i7, or Apple M1/M2) right at the top.
In Pakistan, realistic pricing is Rs. 7,000 – 9,500 for a Tier-1 OEM-equivalent pack across both generations (Intel Touch Bar units tend to land toward the lower half, M1/M2 units toward the upper half given the larger 58.2Wh cell), or Rs. 10,000 – 12,000 for a refurbished Apple-genuine pull. Both generations glue the battery into the bottom case, and the Intel models add a longer, 6-connector ribbon cable that has to come off in the right sequence — pull it wrong and you strip the connector's locking bar, which is a separate and more annoying repair than the battery itself.
Cost breakdown
oem
- price
- Rs. 10,000 – 12,000
- notes
- Refurbished Apple-genuine pull, verified for capacity and cycle count before fitting. Shows ‘Apple’ in System Report on both Intel and Apple Silicon models.
compatible
- price
- Rs. 7,000 – 9,500
- notes
- Tier-1 OEM-equivalent cell matched to your exact generation (58.0Wh Intel or 58.2Wh M1/M2). We confirm the model identifier before ordering — Intel and Apple Silicon packs are not interchangeable despite similar capacity.
labour
Included in the price above — no separate callout or labour fee. Bench time: 2-3 hours (heat + adhesive pull-tab removal, ESD-safe bench).
warranty
15-day repair warranty on the labour plus a 30-day battery warranty on the new pack itself — if it fails through no fault of your own (drops, spills and physical damage excluded) within 30 days, we replace it again at no charge.
Signs your battery needs replacement
- ▲Runtime has dropped well below the original 10-17 hour rating (Intel Touch Bar models run shorter than M1/M2 to begin with)
- ▲About This Mac > Battery shows “Service Recommended” instead of “Normal”
- ▲On Intel units: the trackpad clicks feel different or the keyboard deck bulges slightly — classic early swelling sign on this generation
- ▲Sudden shutdowns under load (video export, Xcode builds, heavy Chrome tabs) even when the battery reads 20-30% remaining
- ▲Cycle count has crossed 800-1,000 in System Report, or the laptop is 4+ years old and has never had the battery replaced
Turnaround time
Walk-in
Same day, but budget 2-3 hours rather than a quick swap — the pack is glued to the bottom case with stretch-release adhesive, and rushing the heat-and-pull-tab process is how connectors and trackpad cables get damaged.
Courier from other cities
5-9 working days round-trip from Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi or Sargodha; 7-13 working days from Karachi, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Abbottabad or Bahawalpur; 9-16 working days from Quetta or Sukkur. That covers courier there, free diagnosis within 24 hours of arrival, the repair itself, and courier back — we confirm your exact date on WhatsApp once diagnosis is done.
Frequently asked
How do I know if my MacBook Pro 13 is Intel or Apple Silicon before booking?
Apple menu > About This Mac. If it lists a Processor line (‘2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5’, for example), you have the Intel Touch Bar generation. If it lists a Chip line (‘Apple M1’ or ‘Apple M2’), you have the newer Apple Silicon model. Tell us which when you message us — the parts and, sometimes, the price differ.
Is DIY replacement possible, especially on the older Intel model?
Not recommended, and the Intel generation is actually the trickier of the two. Its 6-connector battery ribbon has to be disconnected in a specific order, and the connector's plastic locking bar is fragile — crack it and you need a full top-case swap instead of a simple battery job. The M1/M2 version is somewhat more forgiving but still uses the same glued stretch-release construction as the MacBook Air. Either way this is bench work, not a kitchen-table repair.
Will this void my Apple warranty?
Only relevant if you have an active AppleCare+ plan or the Pro is still within Apple's 1-year standard warranty — in that case, use an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Given the Intel generation ended production in 2020 and even the M2 model launched in 2022, most units reaching us are past any manufacturer coverage, and our own 15-day workmanship plus 30-day battery warranty applies instead.
Is the butterfly keyboard generation (2016-2019) worth battery repair, given its other issues?
Usually yes for the battery specifically — battery failure and keyboard stickiness are unrelated faults. If your butterfly-keyboard Pro also has sticking or repeating keys, that's typically a separate top-case swap (which happens to also replace the battery, since they share the same assembly on this generation). We'll quote both faults together and tell you honestly if fixing everything still makes financial sense versus the laptop's resale value.
How do I check cycle count and battery health myself first?
Apple menu > About This Mac > More Info > Battery shows Cycle Count and Condition on both generations. Apple's rated service life is 1,000 cycles for both the Intel and Apple Silicon 13-inch Pro. We also run coconutBattery on our diagnosis bench, free of charge, for an exact mAh-level Full Charge Capacity vs Design Capacity reading before you commit to anything.
