Used Laptop Deal Checker
Found a used laptop on OLX, Facebook Marketplace or WhatsApp? Paste the ad below. In a few seconds you get a fair-price check against real shop prices, a scan for warning words in the ad, and an inspection checklist made for that exact laptop — so you know what to test before you pay.

How to use it
- 01
Paste the ad
Copy the whole ad — title, description and price — from OLX, Facebook Marketplace or a WhatsApp message.
- 02
Fix the specs
Check what the tool read. Change the processor, generation or RAM if it got anything wrong.
- 03
Read the verdict and flags
See how the price compares with shop prices for similar specs, and which words in the ad need checking.
- 04
Take the checklist
Send the seller questions on WhatsApp, then use the checklist when you test the laptop in person.
Where the price range comes from
The range is built from 582 laptops currently in stock at NN Laptops, grouped by brand, processor family and generation (or Apple chip), RAM and graphics. When there is no exact match, the tool widens the search step by step and tells you which match it used. It is our shop's price for tested laptops with a 30-day check warranty — a fair reference, not a nationwide average. For a quick price on a specific model, try the Laptop Price Checker.
The warning signs it looks for
| In the ad | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Advance or token money | Money sent before you see the laptop is very hard to get back. Pay only after testing. |
| No testing allowed | You cannot know what you are buying. Ask for 20–30 minutes to test. |
| iCloud, Activation Lock, MDM | A Mac tied to someone else's account or a company can lock itself after a reset. |
| BIOS password | Often an ex-company lock; can need chip-level work, or may not be removable. |
| “Board issue”, “display line” | A known fault — get a repair quote before agreeing a price. |
| “Box pack” or “brand new” | Ask for the sealed box and check the warranty with the serial number on the maker's site. |
| “UK / USA imported” | Where it came from says nothing about condition. Judge the unit itself. |
| No battery details | A replacement battery can cost a big share of the price. Ask for the battery report or cycle count. |
| Price far below the range | There is usually a reason. Find it before you pay. |

Used Laptop Deal Checker — FAQ
How does the Used Laptop Deal Checker work?
You paste the full text of a used laptop ad. The tool reads the brand, model, processor and generation, RAM, storage, screen size and asking price — it understands formats like "65k", "65 hazar" and "1.2 lac". It then compares the price with NN Laptops' current prices for in-stock laptops with similar specs, scans the ad wording for common warning signs, and builds an inspection checklist and a list of questions for the seller. Everything runs in your browser.
Is the price range a market average?
No. It is NN Laptops' own current price list for tested laptops in stock at our Hafeez Center shop, which come with a 30-day check warranty. It is an honest reference point, not an average of every seller in Pakistan. A private sale without a warranty is normally a bit cheaper than a shop price, and battery health, exact model and condition can move a fair price up or down.
What do the verdicts mean?
"Suspiciously cheap" means the price is far below similar shop prices — there is usually a reason, such as a fault, a lock, a weak battery or a lower spec. "Good price" means it is clearly cheaper than a shop, so it is worth buying if the laptop passes your checks. "Fair price" means it is close to shop prices. "On the high side" means it costs more than similar laptops — ask what makes it worth more, or negotiate.
Does a red flag mean the seller is dishonest?
No. Many honest sellers write "box pack", "UK imported" or "10/10 condition" in good faith. A flag only tells you what to check before paying. The few flags marked High — advance or token money, no testing allowed, iCloud or BIOS locks, or an admitted fault — are the ones where buyers most often lose money, so take extra care with them.
How do I check a used MacBook for Activation Lock or MDM?
Ask the seller to sign out of their Apple ID in front of you. Then hold the Option key, open the Apple menu and click System Information; under Hardware, "Activation Lock Status" should say Disabled. In Terminal, the command profiles status -type enrollment should show No for both lines, which means it is not managed by a company. Finally, check the battery cycle count under System Information → Power.
How do I check a used ThinkPad, Latitude or EliteBook for a BIOS password?
Restart the laptop and press the BIOS key — F1 on most Lenovo ThinkPads, F2 on Dell, F10 on HP. The BIOS should open without asking for a supervisor password. Also look at the security page for Computrace or Absolute: it should not be activated. Ex-company laptops are common in Pakistan and are fine to buy, but a locked BIOS can be expensive or impossible to remove.
Is my pasted ad saved or shared?
No. The checking happens inside your browser and the ad text is not uploaded or stored. The only time anything leaves your device is if you press a WhatsApp or copy button yourself.
