How we diagnose it
We check current temperatures under load using HWMonitor or Core Temp - a healthy laptop should stay under 85 degrees on CPU during heavy use. If we see throttling temps (95 degrees plus, sustained) we open the machine and inspect the fan, heatsink, and thermal interface. Dust build-up is visible immediately. Dried thermal paste we check by removing the heatsink - crumbling grey paste tells the story. We photograph before and after so you see what came out.

Honest success expectations
For overheating and throttling complaints on 2-plus year old laptops, this service resolves the problem 70-80 percent of the time. The remaining cases are either deeper issues (VRM problems, motherboard-level power delivery faults) or laptops with genuinely inadequate cooling design for the workload the user is running. We do not oversell - if we suspect the fan cleaning will not solve your specific issue, we say so before you pay. Temperature drops of 10-25 degrees under load are typical on machines that have never been serviced.
What we cannot fix
- × Design-level cooling shortcomings on some very thin ultrabooks that were never adequate for sustained heavy workloads
- × Fan noise from bearings that have completely failed but where the fan is not commercially available for that specific model - rare, but happens on obscure or very new models
- × Overheating caused by malware running background crypto miners or similar - that is a virus removal job, not thermal
- × Overheating on laptops where the heatsink has been physically damaged (bent by drop, corroded by water) - sometimes needs heatsink replacement not just paste
Warranty on the repair
3-month workmanship warranty on cleaning and paste service - if temperatures rise sharply again in that period we redo the work free. Fan replacements get 6-month warranty on the new fan. Warranty does not cover laptops used in extremely dusty environments (workshop, construction site) where re-clogging is inevitable regardless of quality of service.

How often should this service be done?
In Lahore climate - every 12-18 months for gaming or heavily-used laptops, every 24-30 months for lightly-used business laptops. If you notice the fan running harder than before or performance dropping, that is the sign.
Will fan cleaning actually make my old laptop faster?
It can restore lost performance, not add new performance. If your CPU was throttling from 3.5GHz down to 1.8GHz because of heat, cleaning can restore it to 3.5GHz. That feels much faster. It will not make a 5-year-old i3 outperform a new i5.
What thermal paste do you use?
We use quality standard thermal paste (Arctic MX-4 or equivalent) as default - excellent performance, long-lasting, safe on all surfaces. For premium jobs on gaming laptops we can quote Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. Liquid metal only on suitable models with clear risk explanation.
How long does the service take?
Standard laptop: 2-3 hours bench time. Gaming laptop with heavier cooling: 3-5 hours. MacBook Retina: half a day or overnight due to careful adhesive work. Drop-off morning, pick-up evening is realistic for most jobs.
My laptop is only 1 year old - does it need this?
Probably not yet unless you use it heavily or in a dusty environment. If temperatures are still fine (under 85 degrees on CPU under load) and there is no loud fan noise, hold off. We will not sell you a service you do not need - we tell you when to come back.
Can this fix random shutdowns?
If the shutdowns are thermal (usually after 10-30 minutes of use, when the chassis is warm) then yes, this service resolves it in most cases. If the shutdowns happen instantly on power-up or seem unrelated to time-on, the issue is deeper - possibly motherboard-level. Free diagnostic tells us which.
