What this part does
An AB cover is the lid and the screen bezel sold together. The A part is the outer back of the screen and the B part is the frame around the panel. A set is often simpler when the hinge mounts or the corners of the lid have cracked, because the two parts clip into each other.
Signs you need a new one
- The lid is cracked, dented or split at a corner.
- The screen bezel has come away from the lid and will not clip back.
- The hinge mounts inside the lid have broken, so the screen wobbles.
- The screen flexes more than it used to when you open the laptop.
