Buyer's guide

Buying Apple Laptops at N.N Laptops

Buying a used MacBook from us is the safest path to a tested, iCloud-unlocked, ready-to-set-up MacBook in Pakistan. Every MacBook in our inventory goes through Apple's own diagnostic suite before listing — Apple Diagnostics (the built-in hardware test, accessed at boot with the D key), DriveDx for SSD health analysis, exact battery cycle count documented from About This Mac → System Report → Power, complete keyboard test (especially critical on 2016–2019 butterfly-keyboard models), screen scanned for backlight bleed and dead pixels, all Thunderbolt / USB-C / MagSafe / 3.5mm jack ports tested. We also verify iCloud activation status — every MacBook we sell has been signed out of Find My Mac by the previous owner, and we re-verify by booting to Recovery Mode (Cmd+R) and confirming there's NO Activation Lock prompt. Every MacBook ships with a 15-day check warranty — if anything's wrong in the first 15 days, bring it back to Hafeez Center or send it back via the same courier (we cover return shipping for real faults) and we repair or refund. My brother and I have been doing this since 2017 and have personally tested over 800 MacBooks. Cash on Delivery is the default — pay nothing until the TCS / Leopards courier hands you the MacBook, you've completed the Setup Assistant with your own Apple ID, and inspected the unit. For pre-payment to reserve a rare model (M1 Max 16", M3 Pro), we accept JazzCash, EasyPaisa, and bank transfer to MCB / Meezan / HBL. For original Apple USB-C chargers, MagSafe 3 cables, Apple Magic Keyboards, replacement batteries (we use authentic A-grade cells for Intel-era MacBook Pro battery replacements, Rs. 14,500–22,500 fitted including labour), and Apple Care recommendations, WhatsApp 0314 4000131 with the MacBook's exact model identifier.

Series breakdown

Apple Series Guide

Each Apple series targets a different use case and budget. Pick the right line first — the model number comes second.

MacBook Air M1 (2020)

The MacBook Air M1 is the single best-value used MacBook in Pakistan in 2026. Fanless M1 chip, 18-hour battery life, beautiful Retina display, the legendary scissor-switch keyboard, and a chassis design that's still gorgeous despite being five years old. The 8 GB / 256 GB base spec handles every mainstream workflow short of heavy 4K video editing — light Photoshop, Premiere 1080p, Xcode iOS development, hundreds of Chrome tabs, you name it. Get the 16 GB / 512 GB version if budget allows for future-proofing.

Ideal for: Students, freelancers, designers on a budget, anyone switching from Windows who wants the macOS ecosystem at the lowest price.

Price range: Rs. 140,000 – Rs. 200,000

Popular models: MacBook Air M1 8 GB / 256 GB, MacBook Air M1 8 GB / 512 GB, MacBook Air M1 16 GB / 512 GB

MacBook Air M2 & M3

The MacBook Air M2 (2022) and M3 (2024) add a redesigned slimmer chassis, MagSafe charging, a notched larger display with thinner bezels, two Thunderbolt ports, and 4 colour options including Midnight and Starlight. M3 is the same chassis with an upgraded chip and Wi-Fi 6E. Trade-off vs M1: 25–35% more expensive for incremental gains.

Ideal for: Buyers who want the latest MacBook Air design and don't mind paying Rs. 50K extra over M1, frequent MagSafe charging users.

Price range: Rs. 195,000 – Rs. 270,000

Popular models: MacBook Air M2 8 GB / 256 GB, MacBook Air M2 16 GB / 512 GB, MacBook Air M3 8 GB / 256 GB, MacBook Air M3 15-inch

MacBook Pro M1 Pro / M1 Max

The MacBook Pro 14" and 16" with M1 Pro or M1 Max (2021) is the best mobile workstation Apple has ever made — and one of the best Windows-or-Mac workstations of the past decade. ProMotion 120 Hz mini-LED HDR display, 32 GB RAM option (Pro) or up to 64 GB (Max), 8-core or 10-core CPU, 14-core to 32-core GPU, 6 hours of sustained 4K video editing on battery. For professional creators, this is the pick.

Ideal for: Video editors, photographers, 3D / CAD professionals, music producers, software developers, anyone who needs a workstation that travels.

Price range: Rs. 230,000 – Rs. 380,000

Popular models: MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro 16 GB / 512 GB, MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro 16 GB / 1 TB, MacBook Pro 16" M1 Pro 16 GB / 1 TB, MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max 32 GB / 1 TB

MacBook Pro M2 / M3 Pro / Max

The MacBook Pro 14" / 16" with M2 Pro / Max (2023) and M3 Pro / Max (2023+) are the latest professional MacBooks — same chassis as M1 Pro / Max generation with upgraded chips. M3 series adds hardware ray-tracing for 3D workflows and dynamic caching for GPU memory efficiency. Trade-off vs M1 Pro: 20–30% more expensive used.

Ideal for: Top-tier professionals who need the latest M-series silicon, 3D artists who need hardware ray-tracing, anyone with a heavy 8K / ProRes workflow.

Price range: Rs. 290,000 – Rs. 480,000

Popular models: MacBook Pro 14" M2 Pro, MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro, MacBook Pro 16" M2 Max, MacBook Pro 16" M3 Max

MacBook Pro Intel (2016–2019)

Intel-era MacBook Pros are the budget MacBook segment in 2026 — but you need to know the keyboard story before buying. The 2016–2018 MacBook Pro with butterfly keyboard is unreliable; expect Rs. 35–55K to replace a failed keyboard at an authorised service centre. The 2019 16" MacBook Pro was the first to ship with the safer scissor keyboard and is the safest Intel-era buy. Skip the 2016–2018 unless heavily discounted under Rs. 100K.

Ideal for: Budget buyers who specifically want macOS, photographers who want the larger 16" screen at a low price, anyone willing to accept Intel-era thermal throttling.

Price range: Rs. 90,000 – Rs. 180,000

Popular models: MacBook Pro 13" 2017 Touch Bar (avoid), MacBook Pro 13" 2019, MacBook Pro 15" 2018, MacBook Pro 15" 2019, MacBook Pro 16" 2019

MacBook Air Intel (2018–2020)

The Intel MacBook Air (2018 Retina) and 2020 model are the budget entry to the MacBook line — but the 2018–2019 Air also has the butterfly keyboard issue. The 2020 MacBook Air with scissor keyboard (last Intel Air) is fine. Honestly, Air M1 is usually only Rs. 30–50K more and is a far better buy.

Ideal for: Very budget-constrained buyers who specifically want macOS, students who can't stretch to Air M1, casual users with light workloads.

Price range: Rs. 75,000 – Rs. 130,000

Popular models: MacBook Air 2020 Intel, MacBook Air 2019 Retina, MacBook Air 2018 Retina

Buying a used Apple

How to buy a used MacBook in Pakistan

Four steps from picking the right MacBook generation to receiving an iCloud-unlocked, tested unit at your door.

How to buy a used MacBook in Pakistan

Four steps from picking the right MacBook generation to receiving an iCloud-unlocked, tested unit at your door.

  1. 1
    Pick the right MacBook line

MacBook Air M1 = best value (Rs. 140K–180K). MacBook Air M2/M3 = newer with MagSafe (Rs. 195K–270K). MacBook Pro M1 Pro/Max = mobile workstation (Rs. 230K–380K). MacBook Pro M2/M3 Pro/Max = latest flagship (Rs. 290K–480K). Avoid butterfly-keyboard models (2016–2018 Pro). Choose by use case, not the year alone.

  2. 2
    Verify iCloud + battery cycles

Demand to see About This Mac → System Report → Power: cycle count + condition. Demand the seller shut down + boot to Recovery Mode (Cmd+R during boot) — there should be NO Activation Lock prompt. We provide both proofs (cycle count screenshot + Recovery boot photo) for every MacBook in our catalog.

  3. 3
WhatsApp 0314 4000131 with the model

Send the MacBook model (e.g. MacBook Air M1 2020, MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro 2021), the spec (RAM / SSD), and your full city + address. We confirm stock, send 5+ photos including battery info, and quote a final price + courier.

  4. 4
Pay Cash on Delivery + set up

When the courier arrives, power on the MacBook, complete the Setup Assistant with your own Apple ID, sign in to iCloud, check the screen for backlight bleed, test the keyboard + trackpad, run Activity Monitor. Pay cash only after satisfied. 15-day warranty starts on acceptance.

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked questions

Is buying a used MacBook from N.N Laptops safe?

Yes. Every MacBook is iCloud unlocked before sale — we receive units that the previous owner has signed out of Find My Mac, and we re-verify by trying to enter Recovery Mode and confirming no Activation Lock prompt. We run Apple Diagnostics (Apple's built-in hardware test), DriveDx for SSD health, and we photograph the battery cycle count (System Information > Power > Battery Information). Each listing includes the exact cycle count, manufacture date, and grade A/B/C cosmetic rating. The MacBook arrives at your door ready to set up with your own Apple ID, no leftover accounts.

MacBook Air M1 vs M2 — which should I buy in Pakistan?

MacBook Air M1 (late 2020) at Rs. 140,000–180,000 is the best value MacBook in Pakistan in 2026 — fanless M1 chip handles everything except heavy video editing, 18-hour battery life, and the design is identical to Intel-era so MagSafe-less + thicker bezels are the only cosmetic concerns. MacBook Air M2 (2022) at Rs. 195,000–230,000 adds MagSafe charging, a redesigned slimmer chassis, a notched display with thinner bezels, and slightly better thermals — but you pay Rs. 50K extra for the upgrades. For 90% of buyers, M1 wins on value. M3 (2024) at Rs. 240,000+ is for buyers who need the latest.

Which MacBook Pro is best for video editing in Pakistan?

MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max (2021, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) at Rs. 320,000–380,000 is the sweet spot — 32 GPU cores handle 4K timelines in Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro without dropping frames, ProMotion 120 Hz mini-LED HDR display is colour-accurate out of the box, and battery life under sustained video work is 6–7 hours. For lighter editing work, MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro (16 GB, 512 GB) at Rs. 230,000–280,000 is more portable. Avoid Intel 16" MacBook Pros for video work — thermal throttling kills sustained performance.

How do I check a used MacBook's battery cycle count?

Click the Apple menu → About This Mac → System Report → Power. The Battery Information section shows Cycle Count (e.g. "234"), Condition (Normal / Service Recommended / Replace Soon / Service Battery), and Full Charge Capacity in mAh. Healthy thresholds: M1 / M2 / M3 MacBooks should have < 300 cycles for top condition; Intel MacBooks < 500 cycles. Above the threshold doesn't mean the battery is bad — many MacBooks easily exceed 1,000 cycles before needing replacement — but cycle count is the best single proxy for remaining battery life. We document this for every MacBook listing.

Can I get original Apple chargers and MagSafe cables in Pakistan?

Yes. We stock original Apple USB-C chargers (61 W for MacBook Air M1, 67 W for M2 Air with MagSafe, 96 W / 140 W for MacBook Pro), original MagSafe 3 cables, and genuine USB-C to USB-C cables. Original Apple 96 W charger = Rs. 13,500. We also stock UGREEN / Anker GaN 100 W chargers (Rs. 6,500–8,500) which work perfectly with any MacBook over USB-C PD — cheaper, smaller, and they support all MacBooks via one charger. For MagSafe-equipped MacBooks (M2 Air, M1/M2/M3 Pro), original MagSafe cables are Rs. 4,500.

What's the difference between butterfly and scissor MacBook keyboards?

Butterfly keyboards (2016–2019 MacBook Pro, 2018–2019 MacBook Air) have ultra-shallow key travel and are PRONE to failure from dust ingress — sticky keys, double-presses, dead keys. Apple's free repair program ended; out-of-warranty repairs cost Rs. 35,000–55,000. Scissor (or "Magic Keyboard") keyboards from MacBook Air 2020+, MacBook Pro 13" 2020+, MacBook Pro 16" 2019+ are reliable and have deeper key travel. CRITICAL: avoid the 2016–2018 MacBook Pro Touch Bar models unless heavily discounted (under Rs. 100K). The 2019 MacBook Pro 16" was the first to ship with the scissor keyboard and is a much safer used buy.
