Laptop Guide for Minhaj University Lahore Students 2026

Minhaj University Lahore students usually buy a laptop in one of three budgets: Rs. 45,000 - 65,000, Rs. 65,000 - 85,000 or Rs. 95,000 - 140,000. Most degrees run fine on a mid-range laptop with an SSD. Walk in to Hafeez Center, Gulberg III, Lahore to see them in person.

Minhaj University Lahore describes its campuses as being in Township and Model Town. Public listings show BS Computer Science and BS Software Engineering among its programmes, along with several other degrees. Programme lists differ between sources, so confirm your degree with the university.

Software engineering work means long coding sessions, version control, databases and sometimes mobile or web frameworks. That needs a laptop with enough memory and a comfortable keyboard more than anything else. Students in other departments mostly need Office and research tools.

Township and Model Town are both close to central Lahore, and our Hafeez Center shop is easy to reach from either. You can test the keyboard and screen on the laptop before paying.

Frequently asked by Minhaj University Lahore (MUL) students

Is a gaming laptop needed for software engineering?

No. Software engineering needs RAM, a fast SSD and a comfortable keyboard, not a gaming GPU. A business laptop gives more value, weighs less and lasts longer on battery.

What RAM size suits a software engineering student?

16GB. Android Studio, Docker and a browser together use a lot of memory. If you buy 8GB, pick a model with a free slot so you can add RAM later.
