The university is named after the Sufi poet Khwaja Ghulam Fareed. A Punjab government page reports 16 departments and 94 degree programmes after fall 2019 admissions.
Listed BS programmes include Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Chemical and Software Engineering, plus Computer Science, Bioinformatics, BBA and Agriculture. Engineering and AI students use heavier software than arts-focused campuses, so RAM and SSD matter more here.
