Laptop Guide for BNU Lahore Students 2026

Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore students usually buy a laptop in one of three budgets: Rs. 55,000 - 85,000, Rs. 95,000 - 140,000 or Rs. 150,000 - 250,000. Most degrees run fine on a mid-range laptop with an SSD. Walk in to Hafeez Center, Gulberg III, Lahore to see them in person.

Beaconhouse National University (BNU) is a private, not-for-profit liberal arts university in Lahore, founded in 2003 by the Beaconhouse School System. Its Tarogil Campus is 13 KM off Thokar Niaz Baig on Raiwind Road, next to Bahria Town. Its School of Computer and Information Technology lists BS Computer Science, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, while its design and architecture schools list BFA, BDes, Architecture and Interior Design.

BNU is a good example of a campus where laptop needs differ widely. A BS AI student needs RAM and a fast SSD. An architecture student runs AutoCAD, Revit or SketchUp and needs a strong CPU and more RAM. A visual communication design student runs Adobe apps and needs a good screen.

Because the campus is on Raiwind Road, many students commute far. A light laptop with a healthy battery is as important as the specs. You can visit us at Hafeez Center and carry the laptop yourself to judge the weight.

Frequently asked by Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore students

I am joining the architecture school. Which laptop should I buy?

Choose 16GB RAM, an i7 and an SSD. A used Dell Precision or HP ZBook workstation handles AutoCAD and SketchUp well and costs less than new. Check the current stock in the Creative Premium tier or ask us on WhatsApp.

Is a gaming laptop good for design and architecture?

It can render fast but is heavy and has short battery life, which is hard on a Raiwind Road commute. A workstation or a business laptop with a good screen is usually a better balance.

Do BS AI students need a graphics card?

Not for most coursework. Python notebooks and small models run on the CPU. If you plan heavier deep-learning work, tell us your budget and we will check what is in stock.
