What this part does
A touch screen panel combines the display with a layer that reads finger touch. On many laptops the touch layer is part of the panel itself. On others it is a separate glass that sits over the display.

- Touch does nothing, or works in only part of the screen.
- Ghost touches: the pointer moves or clicks by itself.

No. A normal screen has no touch layer, and the cable and panel are different.
Can I turn off touch if it goes wrong?
Yes, in Windows Device Manager you can disable the touch device. This only hides the fault.
