What this part does

Signs you need a new one
- The laptop does not power on, or turns on with no picture.
- It restarts at random or shuts down after a few minutes.
- It does not charge, even with a known good charger and battery.
- Beep codes, a blinking power light, or a short pattern on the keyboard lights.
- Liquid damage, burn marks or a smell of burnt plastic from inside.
Check this before you order
- Read the motherboard code printed on the board itself, often near the edge.
- Match the CPU model, since most boards are made for one CPU family only.
- Check if your laptop has a dedicated graphics chip (GPU) or only integrated, and pick the same.
- Compare the number of RAM slots, and check whether RAM is soldered.
Fitting: Technician recommended
The whole laptop must come apart. Use an anti-static wrist strap and disconnect the battery first. Poor handling can break connectors and tiny parts. Reapply thermal paste on the heatsink.
